PlyFix™ is one of MINIWIZ’s most versatile material inventions with unprecedented aesthetic and formative capacities. Layers of fibrous materials are compressed into a single solid sheet whilst retaining a soft and tactile surface avoiding the traditional plastic feel. Depending on the desired thickness of the end result, separate layers of felt are pressed and fused together without the use of any adhesives.

Intensity of the pressing combined with thickness of the felt presents a wide range of felt panel/sheet properties. The felt can potentially bevery hard, dense and stiff or semi flexible sheets, with surface textures from genuine felt-like feel to hard surfaces nearing the performance that many typical extruded plastic sheets would give. In all cases the material still resembles the appearance and warm touch of felt.

As for characteristics, PlyFix™ can be heat bent into a 3D curved form, thermoformed, laser cut, water cut, machined, or bent using heat - making it one of MINIWIZ’s most widely applicable materials. Applications range from decorative wall panels to structural elements in felt installations and products. Thermo-forming also opens many doors to packaging solutions. Laser cutting or dye-cutting, combined with thermo-forming or 3D heat pressing makes PlyFix™ applicable to many types of product parts or finishes.

The sound insulation properties of PlyFix™ makes it a suitable material for tiles used in office environments. It has been a sustainable addition to Nike offices such as the ones in Tokyo, New York, etc.

PlyFix™ can be laser engraved and printed on. It can also be water resistant or breathable when finished. The available textures lie between soft traditional felt-like and hard relatively smooth surface, whilst color options are wide based on client specification.
