Mark is an architect, educator, and design pioneer in Singapore. 

 

He was previously the Executive Director of the DesignSingapore Council from 2018-2022, where he led the Council in driving and implementing national policies on design to make Singapore an innovation-driven economy and a more loveable city.

 

A multiple award winning architect, Mark is one of URA’s 20 Under 45 list of Singapore architects to represent the next generation. He represented Singapore at the 11th Venice Architectural Biennale, and his works have been recognised by design awards from the Singapore Institute of Architects, Urban Redevelopment Authority, Taiwan’s Golden Pin, amongst others, whilst also being published locally and internationally. Today he selectively practices under his firm ANNEX A Architects.

 

A design educator, Mark has taught a range of subjects from architecture and interior design, to service design and innovation, across institutions such as Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore University of Technology and Design, and the National University of Singapore.

 

He is currently on a mission to reduce single use trash in the business events industry through a Zero Waste Exhibition Booth System made of MINIWIZ’s Plyfix technology.
